Therapeutic Children’s Homes with Trust at Their Core
Proven Leadership in Residential Care
Our senior team brings over 30 years of experience in therapeutic residential childcare. We’ve worked on the front line and in senior leadership roles. We know what good care looks like, what local authorities need and how to support children with complex needs effectively.

All our homes meet the highest care and safeguarding standards. We prepare thoroughly for each inspection and continuously review our practice. Local authorities trust us to care for children in crisis or transition because we’re consistent, accountable and professional.

Real Impact and Trusted Results
We Keep Children Safe, Supported and Moving Forward
Local authorities choose Real Care Support because we offer dependable, therapeutic homes that deliver meaningful outcomes for children and young people with complex needs. Our homes provide round-the-clock care with high staffing levels, consistent routines and environments that feel safe and predictable. This creates the foundation for stability, which is critical for children who have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments or previous home breakdowns.
We use recognised therapeutic models, supported by in-house psychological services, to shape each child’s care plan. This ensures that our approach is clinically informed and tailored to their emotional and behavioural needs. Our staff receive regular guidance and reflective supervision from mental health professionals to maintain high standards of trauma-informed practice.
Children in our care often make significant progress in areas like emotional regulation, daily routines, school attendance and building relationships. We track outcomes closely and provide clear, transparent reporting to support reviews and long-term planning centred around the child.
Our team works closely with social workers, independent reviewing officers, education staff and families to ensure joined-up, consistent communication. We stay responsive, accessible and focused on what each child needs to move forward, whether that means step-down to fostering, returning home or building long-term independence.

Always Putting the Children in Our Care First at Every Level in Our Company
At Real Care Support, everything we do starts with one question. What’s best for the child?
Our Child Centric Ethos
We exist to provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic home for children and young people who have experienced trauma, instability or loss. Our focus is always on creating the best possible outcomes for those in our care.
We are proud to be a values-led organisation. Unlike many other providers in this sector, we are not driven by profit, shareholder demands or rapid expansion. We are privately run with a single priority to offer high-quality, emotionally intelligent care that makes a meaningful difference in a child’s life.
Our homes are not about filling beds. They are about matching the right child with the right setting and giving them the consistency and care they need to move forward. Every home, every member of staff and every therapeutic approach is chosen with care.
We partner with local authorities across the UK who share our belief that quality should never be compromised. When they place with us, they know they are choosing a team that puts the child first, not the bottom line.
At Real Care, therapy isn’t confined to appointments. It’s in how we play pool with kids, how our clinicians debrief staff at the kitchen table and how we carefully match each child’s needs before they even walk through our doors. Our young people don’t see ‘therapy’ they see trusted adults who’ve earned the right to hear their story. That’s how we turn residential care into healing.
Our Mission
To give every child in our care a safe, stable and nurturing environment where they can begin to recover, rebuild and thrive emotionally, socially and educationally.
Our Values
- Child Centred Approach – Each child is treated as an individual with their own story, needs and strengths. We listen to them, support them and adapt our care around their journey.
- Therapeutic Practice – Our homes are grounded in psychological thinking and trauma-informed care. In-house clinical support shapes day-to-day decisions and ensures staff respond with insight and empathy.
- Integrity and Transparency – We are open with professionals, families and regulators. We share what’s working, take responsibility for what isn’t and continuously strive to improve.
- Consistency and Trust – Children need adults they can rely on. Our teams are well trained, well supported and committed to building long-term, trusting relationships.
- Outcomes That Matter – We measure success by the progress each child makes — not just in behaviour, but in wellbeing, confidence, and readiness for their next step.
Real Care exists to rewrite residential care not as an institution, but as a home. We handpick rural properties where kids can breathe, train staff to see behaviour as communication and pour everything into relationships. Why? Because these children deserve what I’d demand for my own: spaces where they’re safe enough to stumble, supported enough to rise and believed in enough to dream. That’s not just care that’s family.
Our Vision for the Future
We know there is growing demand for therapeutic residential care that meets real standards. But growth must not come at the expense of quality.
That’s why our 3 to 5 year plan is focused on sustainable, carefully managed expansion. We will open a small number of new homes in the North West — each one aligned with our values, staffed by trained teams and supported by clinical oversight from day one.
This strategy allows us to:
- Maintain the standards that commissioners and inspectors trust
- Provide meaningful homes for children with high needs
- Invest in staff development, supervision and long-term retention
- Stay responsive, personal and deeply connected to every home
- We don’t aim to be the biggest provider in the sector. We aim to be the most trusted.
In five years, our Northwest footprint will have therapeutic schools linked to 6 to 7 homes because trauma doesn’t check out at 3pm and education shouldn’t either. We’re building a continuum where kids stay long enough to heal, grow skilled enough to work and leave equipped to thrive. And we’ll prove it’s possible by maintaining outstanding care while scaling, never compromising on the family culture that makes us unique.
